OFFICIAL Craft Sequence Timeline (translated)

I mentioned in my last article that there is an official Craft Sequence timeline out there. I’ve never seen it in English, but I knew it was in the inside cover of the German version of Three Parts Dead.

Turns out I should have checked said German version before I spent so long working on my own timeline because it just…tells us most of what I worked out. Well done me.

HOWEVER, as well as some of the dates and timeframes we get some brand new information about the God Wars and other off-page world events, so that’s fun.

I have now translated said German version for your pleasure. You’re welcome. Note that I am a) far from fluent, and b) guessed some words from context or used a dictionary, so there may be a couple of dodgy word choices. If you’re fluent, feel free to correct me! Photos of the German are at the bottom of this article.

Without further ado, here is the OFFICIAL published Craft Sequence timeline, according to Word of Gladstone.

So, what have we learned?

  • Official year dating begins at the fall of the Telomeri Empire - read: fall of Rome analogue

  • Some of the events of the God Wars surprised me - I knew the Liberation of Dresediel Lex wasn’t the end of the God Wars, but I was surprised it happened SO LONG before Makawe even left Kavekana and Seril fell

  • My span of the series was close to correct - I said 23 years, and it looks like 24 here

  • I put Caleb and Tara as 5 years apart, but it’s 6 - however, based on the references I quoted in my first article, it looks like Caleb turned 11 in the same year as Last First Snow, but later in the year

  • I was a decade or so off placing City’s Thirst

  • I was 100% off with dates for Choice of the Deathless, but @NeoTiamat on Twitter was right on with their correction (see below)
